Southern Oregon Dog Training

A WELL TRAINED DOG IS A HAPPY DOG!

  • The dog who got us started!

Duke is the Doberman Pinscher on the logo. We adopted him at 8 weeks of age, and we trained him to be the best companion/family dog we have ever been around. We put in significant amount of time training Duke during the first 18 months of his life and he returned us with so much its hard to put into words. He inspired us to start helping others with their companion animals. We moved back home to Grants Pass Oregon when he was 3 years old, he helped us start a legitimate dog training business. Unfortunately, he passed away due to osteosarcoma in July of 2021. It was a great 9 years, and we will miss having him around. What Duke started with us is not finished and we will continue to move forward with passion to help others learn the most effective & humane ways to handle and train dogs.

  • Helping people train their dogs!

We are your best friend when it comes to training your dog. It doesn’t matter if you are just thinking about getting a puppy or have a 5-year-old with a list of behavior issues you want to work on. We do more for you than just help teach your dog how to sit. we teach all of our clients to understand how dogs learn and why they do the things they do. It is empowering for owners to understand some key concepts of training and dog psychology. This understanding allows you to be successful after training with us. We have a certification through the Certification Council for Professional Dog Trainers, schooling through the Association of Professional Dog Trainers an accredited diploma through canine principles and have continued to build our knowledge base through continuing education. We have helped more than 2,000 dogs and owners so if you are looking for trainers with great education and experience you have found us!

  • Humane and effective training!

Positive Reinforcement is going to be embedded in nearly every bit of our training because when we do that we will see faster, more reliable results and training will be fun for both you and your dog. This is not only my opinion and observation, but this is what the mass majority of top dog professionals around the world believe today. Treats are widely used and one concern I get from clients is that they don’t want to always have to carry treats to get their dog to do what they want. When we take the proper steps to include a secondary reinforcer and tie in love and praise that in time will become the driving force behind why the dog chooses to do what they do. Your dog will love being obedient and doing just what you want them to do if you put in the time. Dogs are very intelligent animals, and we need to give them reasons to do the right thing.
